P2B of UIN Syahada and IALF Bali: Reconnecting a Developmental Mission

In order to improve the competencies and qualifications of lecturers in teaching English and Arabic, the Language Development Center of Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary State Islamic University (UIN Syahada) Padangsidimpuan establishes a collaboration with the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) Bali, marked by the signing of the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on ​​Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

IALF is Indonesia’s premier institution for English and Indonesian language training. It is a non-profit organization, committed to providing high quality language training services throughout Indonesia. Accordingly, IALF is committed to providing tailored assistance and support to any institution that might need their involvement in their language program. This is especially beneficial for the P2B of UIN Syahada given that this unit has been managing several intensive languages programs over the past few years.

Located in the IALF Bali building at Jl. Raya Sesetan No.190, Sesetan, Denpasar Selatan, Kota Denpasar, Bali, the signing of the MoU was attended by the rector of UIN Syahada, Dr. Darwis Dasopang, M.Ag, who also acted as a representative of the university, Vice Rector for General Administration and Planning Funds Affairs, Dr. Anhar, MA, and Vice Rector for Students and Cooperational Affairs, Dr. Ikhwanuddin Harahap, M.Ag, along with the representatives from all four faculties at UIN Syek Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary.

The signing ceremony went smoothly with a warm and friendly ambience between UIN Syahada and IALF Bali, which in this case was represented by Mrs. Caroline as the manager of IALF Bali. P2B it self, as the organizing unit for this event, was represented by the Head of the Language Center (Dr. Eka Sustri Harida, M.Pd) the unit secretary (Usman Batubara S.Pdi), the TOEFL/IELTS division coordinator (Liah Rosdiani Nasution, MA), English (Sri Minda, M. Hum), Arabic (Irsal Amin, M.Pd), and the unit archivist (Rita Fitri Tinambunan, S. sos).

The MoU signing was immediately followed by the signing of a contract for the teachers training program by IALF and P2B. This activity will be carried out as soon as November 15th and 16th, 2022, indicating that UIN Syahada through its center for language development unit is excitedly serious in actualizing the collaboration.

Dr. Eka Sustri Harida, M.Pd as the head of the language development center unit hopes that this collaboration will bring many positive changes, both for the lecturers in particular, qualifications-wise, and for the languages development programs at UIN Syahada in general, quality-wise.
